4 Months

Levi turned four months old on November 18, the day we left for our annual 10 day trip. Now that he's four and a half months old, I figured I better write about it before he's five months old. Boy, time goes so fast!

Levi is still such an easy, laid back baby. He is usually content only fussing or crying when hungry or tired. He's smiling so much more and has even let out a few chuckles!

He's eating about 4 oz. every 3 hours. At night he eats and goes to bed about 7:30, wakes around midnight for a feed and then sleeps until 7-7:30am! Such a great sleeper (though our trip threw him off bit)!! During the day, after eating he spends about 1-1.5 hours playing before a 1.5-2 hour nap. Our days pretty much look like that from about 7:30-7:30. While we weren't as consistent with this routine on our trip, we stuck to it the best we could and Levi did fairly well. When at home, though, when not on the routine, his whole little world seems to be off and our days are generally slightly more challenging.

Levi really loves watching people, esp. big brother Micah. He also still enjoys watching the ceiling fan and being in his swing, bouncer or on his play mat.

We usually try to give him several minutes of Bumbo time a day to work on his head control in addition to tummy time. His head control is getting better. He's 'behind' for a four month old, but right on target when his age is adjusted due to his prematurity.

He had his four month well baby visit this past Tuesday. He was 12 lbs. 12 oz. and 23 inches long. His head circumference was 16.25 inches. He's finally on the growth chart! He's in about the 10th percentile for his age, but again, with taking his adjusted age into consideration, he falls into the 35th-40th percentile. (All of his developmental milestones will be 'graded' at his adjusted age until he 'catches up' or turns two years old.. whichever comes first.) Our peditrician was pleased with his growth and development and seems to think Levi is doing great!

Levi is still wearing 0-3 month clothing, but I don't think it'll be long before he graduates to the 3-6 month size... maybe even by Christmas.

Levi is still such a joy and blessing to our family. I just can't imagine our family without him in it.
