Today at my Herceptin treatment I asked the nurses how many treatments I had left. I've lost track and was thinking I'd be finishing up at the end of Sept or first of Oct. Wrong! I only have 2 left!!!! Six weeks from today, on Sept 9, I will be DONE! D.O.N.E. Done. I've been near tears thinking about it. I've come so far, and while this is by far the easiest of all the treatments with no side effects, and actually a relaxing break from Micah, I'm so ready to be finished. After this, the only thing that will remain is to have my port removed (will schedule that with my surgeon at some point in the next few weeks/months) and then to have reconstruction at some point down the road. We're not planning on doing that 'til we finish having children, so hopefully, it'll be a while. Aside from regular follow-up appts that will be gradually spread out over time, I finally feel like this is really almost all behind me.
Now if my hair would just grow out just enough to resemble a style! ;-)

Congratulations!! In some ways, it seems like a long time since you told everyone of your diagnosis... but in other ways, it seems like almost no time at all. Either way, I'm so glad that the treatments are nearly over and that you're doing so well. Praise God!! And I like the spikey hair! :-)

ReplyDeleteI know that you must feel joy beyond words. I know a year ago you probably couldn't imagine getting to this point. Congrats! Jordan and I are so happy for you!
Very good news :) Hair's overrated anyway, you were cute even when you were a baldie.
