Memorial Day Weekend

Luke's Memorial Day weekend literally started off with a bang! On Friday morning on his way to work, he was stopped on the road waiting for a car to turn left when he was hit from behind! Thankfully, he seems fine (is actually at the dr. as I write this now on Tuesday) but is getting checked out just to be sure. The woman who hit him is also fine. Our van's rear is decently damaged. We can't even open the door, and it'll be taken in for its diagnosis tomorrow.

The rest of the weekend was fantastic. On Saturday we took Micah and his little friend Chase to Uptown Charlotte to see the Cars 2 Tour. The boys loved seeing Mater, McQueen and newcomer Finn McMissile. It was a fun time!

When Micah was about 3.5 months old, he went with me and my sister-in-law Paula and nephew Jack to see Kung Fu Panda on the last day of our family's Iowa vacation. He nursed and slept the whole time. In the last year or so he's grown to love the movie, and it's one of his favorites, so it was only fitting that yesterday, Luke and I would take him for his first real theater experience to see Kung Fu Panda 2. Some friends of ours from church joined us, and we all had a great time. Micah loved the movie and all the popcorn!

Hope you all of my American friends and readers had a wonderful Memorial Day remembering all the service men and women who fought and continue to fight for our freedom!

  1. First, is the Cars 2 Tour and actual tour and, if so, when is it coming to LA?

And, we saw Kung Fu Panda 2 this weekend, too, and, frankly, I wish we hadn't. It was 75% fighting which eclipsed, IMO, the gentle adoption back story. Our son is 4 and is no worse for wear for seeing it, but it is the first movie I wish we'd just skipped.
