Juice Fast

A few weeks ago Luke and I watched Hungry for Change and Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead on Netflix. We've been trying to get healthier with our diet and exercise. Since late December we've been doing very well! But these two documentaries, especially SFaND really inspired us! We decided to do a juice fast, or reboot, using recipes and ideas from Reboot with Joe, the creator of SFaND, Juice Master USA, Juice Yourself Slim and others I've found online.

We're committing to a 10 day fast and started today! Yesterday was our last day of food other than raw veggies or fruit and raw veggie and fruit juice. At the end of the 10 days, if we want to go longer, we will.

As Siong (a female who did a 10 day turned 17 day juice fast) in the FSaND documentary said - we're not going for skinny but for healthy. We want to detox our bodies. Do I want to lose weight? YES! Will I lose weight? Likely. And I hope to and hope most will stay off, especially since I'm continuing exercising through this. But what I really want is to be healthy!

Day one has been good. I don't feel hungry, but I did eat too much last night (for the first time since Christmas) at the Super Bowl Party at our house. I'm sure there will be some hard days, but doing it with Luke will be awesome, and I feel like I can do anything for 10 days.

I'll update at the end. Maybe at some point in the next 10 days. I thought about not blogging about this. In fact, I planned not to. But I think putting it out there will help me be accountable, and maybe it'll inspire someone out there to at least watch the documentaries and consider making a small or big change!

  2. Good for you, Rebecca!! A whole week, wow! Adam does juice fasts too, but I've honestly never joined him. :) I can't wait to hear how it goes for you! Have you ever heard of Juice Plus? That's what we've been taking for a while now. I'll have to tell you about it sometime. Great stuff, but if you have the will power to fast like you're doing, that's awesome!!! :)
