My challenging little man keeps me on my toes, but I couldn't love my smart, goofy, hyper, caring Micah more than I do. He is so amazing, and I'm blessed to be his mother and thankful for his little life. I pray he'll do great things in this world and for God!
We kept his actual birthday (Feb 27) very simple. Luke got home from work a tad early which was just wonderful. We gave him his present. His first bicycle! He was so excited!
After dinner we went to a local frozen yogurt place and had a special treat together as a family. He even shared some of his beloved chocolate yogurt with M&Ms with his brother.
His G-Mom & G-Pop, my parents, came to town from TN on Friday to spend this weekend with us and attend Micah's first ever friends birthday party. Micah loves Super Why and wanted that as his party theme. Mom & Dad were troopers and helped Luke and I run a sweatshop for a little less than 2 hours so we could make 9 super hero capes!
My sweet dad ironing felt to the t-shirts.
First initials of the kids, including the birthday boy and his brother, who attended the party.
We had a really fun party with close friends and their kids (Micah's friends). We kept it simple. It was basically a play date with lunch and cake and ice cream served. And it was perfect for our no fuss family.
We had a no gifts party since it looks like Toys 'R Us exploded in our house as it is. But he got gifts from his grandparents and aunts and uncles, and we let him open those after his party.
Little brother wasn't so sure about becoming a present!
On Saturday afternoon after all the activities of the day, we were all tired. Micah chilled out for a while playing with Luke's (his office's) new Surface. Of course, he didn't play 'normal' games. He did math. That's my boy! ;-)

Only time for a brief comment.
ReplyDeleteHappy 5th birthday, Micah! How is THAT possible. But, my son will be 6 the day after tomorrow so I know exactly how that happens.
OMG, my son got that Angry Birds game for Christmas and it still causes endless frustration for him. Everything needs to be positioned just so or things fall down and he gets SO pissed. We've retired it to the cabinet for now...one needs very good fine motor skills and very high patience.
