I don't know if you've heard of, read or own The Jesus Storybook Bible, but let me tell you, it is absolutely fantastic!!We own and have read a lot of Bibles for toddlers and preschoolers, and this is our favorite! It doesn't just simply tell Bible stories but tells them in such a way that everything comes full circle and centers around Jesus and His coming for our salvation. Luke and I loved it, looked forward to each story (and picture) and saw many stories in a new light ourselves. Just this morning Micah asked if we could read through it again. I'm happy and excited to do so! Take a look at this 'children's' Bible and consider getting a copy for a child(ren) if your life. Or for yourself! Seriously!
For a $3 donation, you can get one of these Bibles into the hand of a child in a Ukrainian orphanage!! Three dollars! That's incredible! These children may or may not find homes and families, but they CAN have access to Jesus and the Gospel! How exciting is that?! How amazing would it be for every one of these children to get a Bible they can read and understand?!?! God can use you and me to make that happen!
From their website:
And from their FB page:In Lumine Media in partnership with Ukraine without Orphans Alliance will print the bibles in the Ukrainian language and distribute them through the Alliance’s network of over 100 churches and 30 Christian organizations already working in orphanages in every state of Ukraine.
Some people have been asking “why give orphans the Jesus Storybook Bible and not a full Ukrainian or Russian bible?” Here are 4 reasons:
1) The Jesus Storybook Bible is written to explain to children who Jesus is and how God’s plan for salvation through Jesus Christ is revealed throughout the whole bible. It clearly explains the gospel in a way both children and adults can understand making it a great tool for spreading the gospel throughout Ukraine.
2) Children in orphanages often have very poor reading proficiency. The Jesus Storybook Bible is written to be easily understood and with the illustrations it is much easier for children to read and understand the main themes and stories of the bible than a plain text bible.
3) The Russian and Ukrainian translations of the bible are older translations and much of the grammar and syntax is outdated. Most kids don’t understand many of the words used and children in orphanages have an even greater challenge reading these translations.
4) A well written, full color, high quality picture bible is a special gift for a child that is very special, personal, and valuable.
Here is a page from the Ukrainian version of The Jesus Storybook Bible. Your $3 donation will help get Bibles into the hands of children who may
never
have a home or family. And these Bibles could be the very tool God uses to give them hope and open their hearts to be adopted by Jesus Christ! Even
if they never experience an earthly family, they will have eternal life in His family!!
