Goodbye, Pepsi. Hello, Leslie.

Last summer I was on a mission to get back in shape and eat healthier, and I was doing quite well! I was eating super healthy with little to no cheating, avoiding all the cakes and goodies in our office, and I'd given up my biggest vice, Pepsi, completely. I was losing weight and toning up. People were noticing. I was feeling great. And then we decided to proceed with my surgery, and since I needed to do the TRAM Flap, I was advised not to lose anymore weight for fear we wouldn't have enough fat and skin to proceed with the surgery. So I stopped everything in October. Over the holidays I quickly gained it all back. Then in January I had my surgery. For the first time in a long time, I do have a perfectly flat stomach (due to surgery), but I'm beyond out of shape, could stand to lose some weight, and simply need to be healthier taking care of this body God has given me.

Nearly two weeks ago, I was given the go ahead from my surgeon to resume all normal activity, including working out. I no longer have the surgery as an excuse. So this past Saturday, I had my last Pepsi. I've been craving it since, but I'm not giving in. I just won't. And yesterday, I said hello to Leslie Sansone and walked two miles in my living room. I thought I was going to die. Six months ago, I could do five miles with Leslie or one of my Jillian Michaels or Turbo Jam DVDs with results but without feeling like I was going to fall over and die. I do need to start slowly, so I'll be sticking with Leslie for a bit, but I'm looking forward to welcoming Jillian and Chalene back into my life soon!

  1. Becca,
You inspire me!! I saw the note saying "good bye Pepsi" & gasped, jokingly telling Sean no way it should be "Hello Pepsi", taking the last swig of my drink. That is, until I read your article. I need to do the same and have been thinking of working out now that I'm out of maternity clothes but not quite in my "normal" clothes. I wish you the best. Rooting in your corner! From 1 Pepsi lover to another.

  2. Go Becca! You can do it. You are one of the strongest women I know. I'm off Diet Coke now and it is so hard! But I'm losing weight and feeling good, so that's the motivation. Keep it up, you will get there.
