Three weeks ago was a fairly ordinary day though we had a much anticipated phone conference with our new attorney that evening at 6:30. Little did I know that Ashley's water had broken early that morning and she was laboring all day with our son!
I can't believe Levi is already three weeks old! Even though I'm away from home and dividing my time between Micah and Levi, the time has just flown. Still can't wait to bring Levi home from the NICU and then head back to North Carolina!
Levi is doing well. He's about 4 lbs. 12 oz. right now. He now gets up to three bottle attempts per shift (depending on the nurse) and still usually only takes about half his bottles most of the time. Last night he did take a full bottle again, so that's exciting. But then this morning he only took half of two bottles. He'll get there.
The question I am most often asked is if we know when we'll be able to come home. The answer is no. We can come home once Levi is taking all of his feedings by bottle and no longer needs the tube. Once he is able to take all of his bottles with no tube, they will keep him another 24-48 hours to be sure he is going to do ok.
Please join us in prayer that Levi will begin taking all of his feeds by bottle soon!! This is the ONLY thing keeping him here and in the NICU, and we are so eager to be together as a family of FOUR!

Gosh, three weeks already? It must seem very slow and very quick all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteGlad he continues to progress. Eat baby, eat.
