Yesterday when I arrived to the NICU, I was in for a very pleasant surprise. Levi had been moved from his isolette to an open bed! This is fantastic news! It means he's holding his own temperature and no longer needs a heat source.
Today at two weeks old, Levi's weight is up to 4 lbs 7.8 oz. His weight gain has been great, and all the doctors and nurses think he's doing wonderfully. The ONLY thing he needs to do in order to be able to come home is take all of his feedings by bottle. This is certainly his biggest struggle. Once he can do this (provided he doesn't get an infection or something), we can take him home!
And speaking of taking him home, we just got word today that our ICPC stuff (paperwork that has to be done in the state where the baby was born AND the state where the baby is going since he won't be legally ours 'til Fall or Winter) has been approved, so when he is discharged, we can actually take him back to NC.
And here's the little man himself.
The first bottle Daddy gave him
Just being cute
Lovin' the pacifier (and this gives you an idea of the size of his head)

ReplyDeleteHe is just the sweetest little love bug. Here is hoping you are able to take him home and reunite with your family sooner rather than later.
Awww, he is soooo cute! Glad he is doing well. He is such a tiny little guy, that Soothie looks huge! Aurelia thinks he is cute too. :)
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Boy! If he is in an open air bed, it wont be long till he is at home in his own bed! :)
